Screening Politics: Margin Call
di 13 okt 2015
In this session of Screening Politics, we will be showing “Margin Call”. “Margin Call” is a movie about a pertinent topic: how do financial crises develop and what is the role and responsibility of big banks? It has a great cast (Kevin Spacey! Jeremy Irons! Demi Moore!) and an engaging plot. So we invite all students to come, watch, enjoy and discuss the implications of the movie for today's politics and economy: what does a healthy financial sector look like? Who is to blame when things go wrong? What responsibilities do states and banks have in assuring stability?

Introduced and discussed by dr. Luc Fransen (UvA, Political Science).
