Information for Members 

Have your friends been asking you all year long if you want to go into politics with your Bachelor Political Science? And have your parents been asking you all the time in the past few weeks how the online education works? And is your grandmother bored at home now and does she want to know what Roeterseiland looks like?

Then take them with you to Machiavelli's Online Open Evening! Unfortunately, we had to cancel our physical open evening due to circumstances, but we will make up for this on April 30th. The link to this evening will be anytime soon.

The evening begins at 20:00 with a tour across Roeterseiland, which will provide an insight into the surroundings of the study of political science. We will show you, for example, the lecture halls, tutorial rooms and canteens.

After that, two renowned political scientists will give a lecture. Marcel Hanegraaff will talk about in Dutch about the following topic: Wordt Brussel gerund door bedrijven? Een overzicht van de macht van lobbyisten binnen de Europese Unie". Eric Schliesser will give an English lecture with the following topic: "Political Theory during the Plague: on Mencius and Hume (and Thucydides)".

We hope to see you all with a lot of family and friends on the 30th!

Informatie voor potentiële studenten Politicologie

Elk jaar organiseert Studievereniging Machiavelli (studievereniging voor politicologiestudenten aan de UvA) een open avond zodat leden hun familie en vrienden een inkijkje kunnen geven in de studie politicologie. Dit jaar hebben we echter besloten om deze Open Avond ook te gebruiken om jullie als potentiële studenten politicologie een beeld te laten vormen van de studie politicologie! De Open Avond vindt plaats op 30 april. De open avond vindt hoofdzakelijk plaats via Zoom. Zoom kun je downloaden via deze link.

Deze avond begint met een voorlichting speciaal voor scholieren over wat de bachelor politicologie inhoudt. Deze voorlichting wordt gegeven door de bachelordirecteur, dr. Marcel Maussen. Tijdens deze voorlichting krijg je alles te horen over zaken als de vakken van het eerste jaar, taalkeuze, een richting kiezen en nog veel meer. Deze voorlichting begint om 19:15 en is toegankelijk via deze link. 

Hierna zal een rondleiding plaatsvinden over de Roeterseilandcampus. Tijdens deze rondleiding krijg je te zien hoe je studieomgeving als politicologie student eruitziet (dus bijvoorbeeld collegezalen, werkgroeplokalen en de kantine). 

Als klap op de vuurpijl bieden we niet één, maar zelfs twee colleges aan van gerenommeerde politicologen. Eric Schliesser zal in het Engels college geven over het volgende onderwerp: "Political Theory during the Plague: on Mencius and Hume (and Thucydides)".  Marcel Hanegraaff zal in het Nederlands vertellen over zijn specialisatie: "Wordt Brussel gerund door bedrijven? Een overzicht van de macht van lobbyisten binnen de Europese Unie".
